Who We Are

The story of how DD Collectables, a family owned and operated business, came to be is as unique as what it has to offer. It all started with my father's (David) private childhood collection of sports memorabilia. He has been collecting ever since he was a little boy. Fast forward some twenty years later...

...Sometime around the year 1990, my mother (Debi) and father decided to take his bountiful collection on the road. Their travels led hem to baseball card shows all over the state Florida due to his specific collection of signed baseballs and autographed photographs. So with the help of Debi's merchandizing skills they had purchased inexpensive tabletop shelving along with creative decor that would better showcase their merchandise. Arranging the memorabilia in an attractive way proved to be very effective as this brought a lot of attention to David's collection. As people approached their table they would often enthusiastically ask the same question, "Where is your store located" but they did not have one.

At the same time my mother was managing a specialty retail store and my father was a part owner of a gallery both located at "The Pier" in our hometown of St. Petersburg, FL. One day the manager of The Pier asked my parents if they had a show coming up the following weekend. The reason he asked was because of an event being held at The Pier that he thought would be beneficial for their merchandise. As luck would have it they did not. So my parents accepted his invitation to set up their goods at The Pier's event, which then became DD Collectables home for over 20 years!

In the years since, DD Collectables variety of merchandise has grown tremendously. Not only do David and Debi still have a vast assortment of sports memorabilia, but also an extensive collection of music, movies and television paraphernalia. DD's eclectic mix of everything entertainment encompasses Nostalgic Americana to Contemporary Pop Culture. From autographed guitars to limited edition wares to one-of-a-kind keepsakes, DD Collectables has it all!

Because of the ultimate demolition of The Pier, DD Collectables was forced to find a new place to set up shop. In early 2012 after months of searching for a new location we finally found a new home at John's Pass Village in Madeira Beach, FL. And it is here where we will continue to serve our clientele in the same tradition with the same satisfaction we've done for so many years.
